These include volleyball, ping-pong, movie nights, happy hours,
bike trips,
cultural excursions in our school van, "round table"
discussions, Latin dance classes, and, of course, many fiestas!
Students also have free use of our cable TV. swimming pool and
coffee, tea and purified water are available throughout the day.
For a minimum fee, optional weekend excursions enable students
to further explore this magical area and we can also arrange for
students to participate in a wide variety of local volunteer projects.
Volunteer Programs
While you stay in La Antigua Guatemala and learn spanish, the
school also has contacts with local non-profit NGOīs that require temporary
volunteers, wich would be a great oportunity to experience the local
culture, practice spanish and at the same time provide a mutch needed
helping hand.

The Academia de Espaņol Guatemala, has a special program
helping at a local elemntary public school, teaching english to young
children, if you are interested or need more information, please contact us
or inform us at the time of your enrollment for your spanish course.

OBRAS SOCIALES DEL HERMANO PEDRO:
A local social hospital that provides attention to mentally
disabled children. Volunteers are needed to assist patients of all ages.
PRIMEROS PASOS:
Provides quality and affordable healthcare and health education to the
underserved communities of the Palajunoj valley just outside of
Quetzaltenango, a small city in the Western Highlands of Guatemala.
BOMBEROS
MUNICIPALES DE LA ANTIGUA GUATEMALA: Municipal Fire
Rescue Department of La Antigua Guatemala, local fire station that provides
protection to the city of La Antigua Guatemala and sourrounding villages,
volunteers are welcomed.
WINGS: La Antigua Guatemala based NGO, for Reproductive
healthcare for men and women in Guatemala.

continue our work.

Many students are interested in volunteering or giving back in some way.
One way you can do this is by
offering to use one of your two checked bags to bring materials down to
Guatemala. One of our regular students has a nonprofit that benefits local
projects in Guatemala. She needs
help bringing down materials donated to her organization.
